On Spacing

We went on a citrus tour today in the groves around this area. We met a group of Thai workers and I snapped some portraits of them. Coming home, a chance in Photoshop merged two images together and reminded me of why the surrealists loved so much this chance occurances that transfor ordinary reality. This is the essence of Spacing or as I termed it in Hebrew Mirchov מירחוב ,when the refferent is transformed to such an extent as to give us a totaly differnt set of associations. Thinking more about: it like many other situations, we can talk about degrees of spacing. This approach fits our attitude that counter to transparecny - spacing could be almost inherent in photographs.
